About StepAhead

StepAhead is born from the core principles of movement and energy flow through life, using Expressive Arts as a powerful transformative tool for self and collective development. All our services are tailored to unleash the creativity within as a mean to strengthen personal and professional abilities while empowering long-term resilience.

At StepAhead, we believe that the first step is the most important when it comes to making big changes. Besides, we support our clients to evolve one step at a time in an attempt to enjoy the process as much as the expected results. Our approach is based on the school of life principle when exploring, trying, daring, being, lead us to grow as a unique soul. We encourage our clients to find their own playgrounds to dive in their own path.

Last but not least, we cherish the core value of solidarity. Call it karma, the Law of the Universe, the Butterfly effect. We call it being a Human in a world where we are all interconnected. And that is the reason why when we are being the best version of ourselves, we are not only offering a gift to ourselves but to the whole world.

We are all here together. Connected. Through our differences. To value our differences.

To make the difference.

The use of the Arts in a therapeutic approach : why?

Art and Dance are powerful methods promoting physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being while strengthening the body-mind connection. Dance/Movement Therapy, for instance, uses expressive movement & dance as a vehicle, through which people can engage in the process of personal integration and growth. It provides a safe and supportive space to re-connect to ourselves, to unleash our power within, while being fully present in the moment.

We all have many inner resources to develop daily resilience if we take the time and indulge in the opportunity to connect to ourselves. We use movement, and body rhythms as healing modalities to build up and to embody our resilience. Movement is a universal language. Before we start talking, as babies we move to express our emotions and needs. Later, before being able to speak, we draw and make noises to express and communicate. In Art and Movement therapy-based sessions, we use this primary language, beyond words, to let the body speaks our emotions and needs as well.

Most of the time, participants don’t see the time goes by and tell that they feel like they were in a bubble, which is the sensation of being here and now. It is a way to go back home: our body.
